Well, it has been an exciting and GREAT weekend! Besides being called off from work on Friday, from that point on the weekend kept getting better! Saturday after work I was able to spend the entire day with Nick...it was fun and a good time as always...I am SO lucky :) We ordered Hometown pizza, although that may not be a big deal to most, it's a huge thing for all present and past RMU students. I have not had it in so long, and it was GREAT to experience it once more lol!
Now to Sunday. We all left our place and arrived in the south side around 11:45. It wasn't long before we were all partaking in the festivities. It was absolutely crazy and an amazing experience. Everyone was dressed in black and gold from head to toe, and they were all pumped already about the big game that was still six and half hours away. Nick and Drew participated in some games and activities to pass by the time....that may be have been a risky decision! Let's just say, by the middle of the afternoon I was being the mother to three grown boys lol. Although the Steeelers have been in the superbowl three times in my life time, I never was able to experience it while with a large group of people. Let me tell you, it was so exciting that I kept forgetting I wasn't at the actual game! I recommend going out to anyone!
I was able to witness history yesterday. We were the first team to win SIX (yes, six) superbowls. Also, Tomlin, the head coach, became the youngest coach to ever win a superball...yay for him! I like him a lot, at least he shows emmotion unlike Cowher did. Also, by the end of the night I had a little bet going with Nick. If the Steelers win I had to do what he said, and if they didn't I got to choose the outcome. Well, even if the Steelers would have lost, I would have said yes to his question anyways :) So, as you can see, February 1, 2009 was not only a day in history but a day of a new beginning for me...I am so lucky :) that's all I can keep saying!!!
