Fat Tuesday

Well, it has not been very eventful lately considering I have not been posting often. Hopefully, that will change within the near future! I am still subbing at the old high school and I will be here for another week and half full time. I am not sure about the rest of March and the rest of the school year. Between today and tomorrow, I am going to work on putting together my packets for subbing at the other five local school districts. Hopefully, I will hear back from them within the next two weeks or so. Subs are needed almost always in every school district. I really just can't wait until I have a steady job in ONE SCHOOL DISTRICT! The next couple of days are still going to be busy. It's supposed to be in the forties weds and thurs, so I have decided that it is finally time to move my bed and dresser into the new place....sleeping on an air mattress is not exactly what you would consider luxury in your new place.

Today is Fat Tuesday. My grandma has invited us down for a homemade gnocci dinner....so exited! Even though I love most Italian food, gnocci is def. my favorite! My grandma gets to meet Nick for the first time as well. I know she will love him, considering everyone else that has met him does! It is important to get my grandma's approval. Once he eats her food, I guarentee he'll be sticking around the family for awhile lol. I haven't decided what to give up for Lent this year. I was thinking to give up all sweets and pop. Not only will I be sacrificing, but I also will be keeping myself healthy and losing weight as well. I think it sounds like a GREAT plan!

Finally, considering I have two formals to go to with Nick's Faternity, I did get one of the two dresses on Sunday. It is a teal color and kind of form fitting. It wasn't what I was going for, but I think with my gold heels (that i spent 60 dollars on and wore once) it will look great. I need to hit the gym and tanning booth and it will all come together. I am excited, everyone that knows me knows how much I LOVE dressing up!

Well, I need to run to the teacher's room to get my coffee before first period starts. Thanks for reading and I'll keep you posted with this week's events....

Valentine's Day

So considering I had a four day weekend, which means no library, no study halls, and no helping students research, it was a GREAT four days! Considering how my life normally is, that didn't mean I had nothing to do...I really don't even known what relaxation is anymore! I did work fri-mon at my part-time job. Although I would have loved to stay home and do nothing within those four days, I knew I had a lot to get done. Also, with moving out, any chance of earning money is great to me!

Saturday was Valentine's Day. It was Nick and my first Valentine's Day together....it was great! I ended up falling asleep when I got back to his place (I have been REALLY tired lately for some reason), and I ended up sleeping for three hours. Being the patient sweetheart guy that he is, he didn't wake me up at all. I felt horrible when I woke up and realized I had slept that long because I knew he had palns for the evening. He was disappointed because he didn't have an alternative plan...I def. reassured him that he had nothing to worry about. Instead of going out and dealing with all th hussle, we decided to order in and get a movie. We ordered Chinese from a local place and rented My Best Friend's Girl. The food was great...and so was the movie. However, once again I fell asleep and didn't see the ending...I do need to rent it though because the parts I did see were hilarious! So, although we had a quiet evening I couldn't ask for more! I did get KENNY CHESENY TICKETS, which I am super pumped about. I also got a new Vera Bradley bag and matching wallet...he spoils me, I know! I got him the cologne he asked for and also made homemade chococlate covered pretzels. With this whole being tight on money, I tried to make a smart decision and use a little creativity! In the end...everything was great!

Moving wise, things are pretty much coming together! I also will be in the classroom all week instead of the library...it makes the day go by a lot faster and I love being able to interact with the students more. I have a busy week ahead of me...I'll keep you posted! :)

Amazing

Well, it's been a week since my last post, and sadly, nothing exciting has happened at all. I am almost completely moved in and last week was my first week of spending the entire week at my NEW place. It's starting to come together. I have decided to decorate my new room in black and white with a city theme (for Sex in the City). So far, with the assistance of my wonderful boyfriend, it is coming together. I have purchased a Sex in the City poster, street sign that says Sex in the City, along with a wall clock. That is going to be the only things that actually say Sex in the City, but I plan to add more to the theme. We also (well he bought me) a puzzle of new york city which I am going to frame and put on my wall. My roommate, who is a photography major is going to take a picture of Pittsburgh and the Student Center at RMU, along with a picture of the Cathedral of Learning at Pitt. Those too will some how be arranged on my wall. Now I just got to get a comforter and some pillows and possibly a throw rug and it will pretty much all make sense. I am trying to be thrifty, and I think I'm going to succeed. With the new decorations and paint I think I'm going to be under $150 to redo my ENTIRE room...I love being a smart shopper!

Back to the boy...he is freaking amazing. He truly treats me like a princess, and this is what everyone says I deserve. Maybe it's true...but I wouldn't change anything right now. I am SO happy and I haven't really been this happy in a LONG time. I want to make him just as happy, if not more happy than I already am. He deserves it! Plus, he bought me the Sex in the City movie and complete series along with a new Vera...he spoils me but I told him although I appreciate it...he can't buy me anything for a month!!! I am truly blessed right now to be subbing full time, moving into my place, having a wonderful family and great friends, all while being with the man of my dreams :)

SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!!!

Well, it has been an exciting and GREAT weekend! Besides being called off from work on Friday, from that point on the weekend kept getting better! Saturday after work I was able to spend the entire day with Nick...it was fun and a good time as always...I am SO lucky :) We ordered Hometown pizza, although that may not be a big deal to most, it's a huge thing for all present and past RMU students. I have not had it in so long, and it was GREAT to experience it once more lol!

Now to Sunday. We all left our place and arrived in the south side around 11:45. It wasn't long before we were all partaking in the festivities. It was absolutely crazy and an amazing experience. Everyone was dressed in black and gold from head to toe, and they were all pumped already about the big game that was still six and half hours away. Nick and Drew participated in some games and activities to pass by the time....that may be have been a risky decision! Let's just say, by the middle of the afternoon I was being the mother to three grown boys lol. Although the Steeelers have been in the superbowl three times in my life time, I never was able to experience it while with a large group of people. Let me tell you, it was so exciting that I kept forgetting I wasn't at the actual game! I recommend going out to anyone!

I was able to witness history yesterday. We were the first team to win SIX (yes, six) superbowls. Also, Tomlin, the head coach, became the youngest coach to ever win a superball...yay for him! I like him a lot, at least he shows emmotion unlike Cowher did. Also, by the end of the night I had a little bet going with Nick. If the Steelers win I had to do what he said, and if they didn't I got to choose the outcome. Well, even if the Steelers would have lost, I would have said yes to his question anyways :) So, as you can see, February 1, 2009 was not only a day in history but a day of a new beginning for me...I am so lucky :) that's all I can keep saying!!!
