Recap of Angels and Demons

On Memorial Day night I went and saw the movie Angels and Demons. At first, I was very skeptical because I wasn't sure what to expect. I had heard that it had a little to do with the Divinci Code, which I had no desire to see at all. After seeing the movie, I REALLY enjoyed it and highly recommend going to see it. I usually don't like to pay the high prices at the movie theater unless I really want to see something, but I am glad Nick and my friends talked me into it! The ending has such a twist and I really think that's what made the movie so exciting and worthwhile! My friend read the book and said the movie didn't do it justice. Considering I have yet to read the book, could be why I found the movie so entertaining. He said that the movie was still good but the book was even better. If I could offer a word of advice, I would say if you enjoy suspense movies, then go see it!

Picnic Planning

I have decided to have a Memorial Day picnic at my new place and invite my whole family over. I love party planning, so I am super excited. The only downside to this is all the cleaning that is involved! Luckily, I have an amazing boyfriend who always wants to pitch-in and help! :)

It took me awhile to decide on the menu, but after doing some research on the Internet I think I finally came up with an easy menu, which I think is going to be very delicious! Here it is:

Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers (given)
Hot dogs (with chili and cheese)
Potato Casserole (also known as cheesy potatoes)
Macaroni Salad
BLT dip
Watermelon
Nick's specialty dessert

I found the recipe for the BLT dip on kraft's food website. It seems to be inexpensive and the picture made it look wonderful! Here is the recipe:

1 pkg. cream cheese
1/2 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup tomatoes (they suggest grape or cheery cut in halves)
1/2 cup real bacon bits

*Place cream cheese on plate and microwave for 45 sec. - 1 minute or until warm
*After, top with remaining ingredients

I am really excited to try it, I am totally an appetizer lover! Have a great memorial day weekend!

Job Search

I am still going through the job searching process. Sometimes I wish I can predict the future. If I would have known that the job market for teachers would be so difficult and the economy being so bad, I may have thought twice about getting into teaching. Teaching is what I've always wanted to do, but sometimes we need to make sacrifices. I know that I have only been out of school for a short period of time but it is still frustrating! One thing that really bothered me was hearing the class president at our commencement tell us that he already has a job with the Steelers even before he graduated!!!!!!!! Although I am happy for him, it's those little things that are frustrating!

Speaking of commencement, I plan on posting pictures and giving a brief recap of the day as soon as I get some free time. This week is jammed packed with lots of working, which is a good thing! Keep your fingers crossed for me with the job...and I'll be posting commencement things soon!
